In his home country he is known as Johnny Crash.
A lifelong admirer of steel guitar and Hawaiian culture, Johnny began studying the instrument in 2018. Since then, he has been performing at cultural events and Hawaiian-themed luaus across Brazil's Southeast region, especially in the city of Santos (São Paulo), where he currently lives.
In his repertoire, he tries to blend elements of Brazilian culture, Hawaiian music and Swing Jazz.
Since late 2023, he has been a student at the Ke Kula Mele Hawai‘i School of Hawaiian Music, where he studies under the guidance of his mentor, Alan Akaka.
